All of us have our favorite up-and-coming bands – that's just part of being a music lover. The songs that connect us and pull us in make a huge difference in who we are as people, and the best part of all is that no two people have the same experiences with the same two bands. Today, as a welcome to the new Little Things Magazine, our team would like to introduce a few of the bands that connect with each of us.
DOUBLECAMP
By Kimmy Reinhardt
Nashville-based indie pop duo DOUBLECAMP is made up of two best friends, Joe Neary and Jordan Burmeister. The band released their first song in 2019 and, since then, has been finding a strong and loyal fanbase through shows and social media.
2023 was a year full of success for the duo. Starting the year with a cross-country tour opening for San Diego-based band Almost Monday, DOUBLECAMP reached a whole new audience of listeners in just a few months. With their first release of 2023, Wallflower, finding massive success among fans in the audience, the duo was able to form strong connections with concertgoers through their impactful and relatable songs.
In late 2023, the group set off on their first headline tour and released their first full-length album, A Second To Myself. If there is one thing the group excels at, it is the ability to create songs with catchy music and meaningful lyrics about everyday experiences. Fan favorites Dreamers and Smoke and Mirrors were released in the summer of 2019 and in the summer of 2020, respectively.
