West coast based artist Olen released his newest single on May 2nd, 2023, alongside the companion music video; the single was released across all streaming platforms on May 3rd. So Codependent is the artist's second release of the year, with word of more being on the way in the coming months.
The music video, directed by Aaron Eisenberg, showcases a couple played by the singer and Hayley Hill as they find themselves fighting over a picnic in a park. The video showcases the couple's relationship troubles as they realize the unhealthy manners and codependency their relationship has become. With various shots showing different angles and the perspectives of both actors in the scene, the video portrays the fight in a realistic and relatable way while showcasing the artist's vocals and tracks within the song.
After playing So Codependent at shows nationwide while opening for the band Sub-Radio, Olen has finally released the single, which demonstrates his talent with well-mixed tracks and amazing vocals throughout the song. With quick-paced drums and instrumentals that make every listener want to scream along to the lyrics and move with the beat, So Codependent is one of Olens best songs thus far and is sure to be a success for the artist.
Olen recently finished a short run of shows with Cinders, including one in Colorado at Lost Lake Lounge, and has more shows scheduled this summer with the band.
